Since the year 2000 we introduced the organic farming at our winery because we care about the sustinable viniculture and the nature. The essence of this kind of farming is to reduce the used chemicals as much as it is possible and do not harm the nature. We keep the soil healty because it is giving us year by year the grape which we are living from. We try to live in a positive symbiosis with our environment.
The pest control is very important but the way to do it can be very different. We do not use ansorbing chemicals. We use only copper and sulfur at the spraying. These are reagents which stay only on the surface of the plant but do not get into the fruit or the cells. This alone is not enough.To strenghten the grapes own defense system we need to control the quantity of each grape stick. We start this process at at the cutting and later at the green work. Because of this the grape will be haelthier and will rippen with higher sugar content. And you know, you can make excellent wine only from healthy grape!
For fertilization we are allowed to use only organic manure, which we get from the neighbour farms. We control the weed by hand or with machines. It is strictly prohibited to use any chemichals! We use our long time knowledge and experience with our grape variety, that’s why we can make high quality organic wine. Without this know how we could not harvest enough quantity and quality grape.
